Check out our favorites from this foodie haven in the South.
BF Homes in Parañaque’s main road (and now its adjoining streets) has flourished in the recent years as the food haven of the South. Aguirre Avenue’s restos cater to different taste buds and moods, showcasing one-of-a-kind dishes and fresh restaurant concepts that make grub-exploring in this busy area worth it. Though there’s so much more than this list to try, here are a few of our favorites in BF, both new and old:
1. Bread and Botany
One of the newest additions to the neighborhood is Bread and Botany, where delectable sandwiches take center stage and homemade tonics come alive. Try the pork belly gua bao for that sweet and savory mix, topped off with special chicharon for that added crunch. If that sandwich isn’t enough, order a side like their fried chicken, but try it kyuchimi style for a spicier kick. Heading there after 5 PM? Pair your dishes with their G&Ts to kick start that happy hour!

2. Magnum Opus Fine Coffees
If there’s one place that can soothe the soul, its Magnum Opus’s delicious coffee aroma that permeates the air. Not sure what to order? Chat with the baristas who can help direct you to that perfect cup, then pair it with their desserts like the lemon custard cake. If a mocha calls to you instead, the Belgian Heartbreak mixes in some Belgian chocolate into the coffee to sweeten things up. But it’s not all sweets in this café, they serve up savory snacks like a variety of grilled cheese sandwiches, too!

3. Bamba Bistro
For those who want a hearty meal, make your way to Bamba Bistro where the dishes taste like home. From start to finish, each dish is carefully curated to perfection. Start off with T.A.S (That Awesome Salad made with some grilled prawns and salmon) and end that meal with their amazing desserts like What’s My Name Again?, a sweet treat made with chocolate, cream, and some crunch. The bonus? The resto’s interiors feel cozy and there’s an al fresco area to enjoy some cocktails.

4. Sensei Sushi
Sensei Sushi has been a go-to in BF for years. Detaching itself from that authentic Japanese taste, its dishes mix in different flavors and textures that make it a gastronomic playground. The regular a la carte menu showcases the house favorites like the salmon belly aburi and tuna tartare, while the specials board displays what’s fresh from the market that is always worth a try. Quench your thirst with some sake and don’t leave the restaurant without a taste (or two) of the half-baked chocolate cake, which you can order ahead.

5. Spoon eat + drink
Spoon eat + drink inspires that epicurean lifestyle while “stirring and serving good feelings all around” (as its tagline reads). The restaurant has a quirky-industrial yet rustic setting where you can enjoy a range of comfort food, from a tasty peri-peri chicken to a filling eggplant parmigiana. Not satisfied with what you see on the menu? Be sure to check out the specials board before deciding what to order!
6. Cue and Brew
Smoked meat, large servings. For the hungry sojourners, Cue and Brew will not disappoint. Choose from their smoked goodies, like a 12-hour smoked pulled pork that comes generously slathered with their homemade sauces. If you want to add even more richness to the meal, order some truffled mac and cheese on the side to share (or not).

7. Drive-By Taco Shop
Drive-By Taco Shop is your friendly neighborhood taco shop. Once you step inside, your taste buds will beg you to order everything on the menu. Drive-by uses homemade tortillas that offer a unique experience on their twist on Mexican cuisine—be ready to use your hands as their tacos are best eaten without cutlery. While waiting for your order, sit at the bar and sip on some horchatas. This joint’s medley of aromas will surely keep you ordering more.

For over 10 years, BF residents have frequented Hanakazu for that authentic and fresh Japanese experience. Hanakazu’s sushi and sashimi choices can vary depending on the fresh stock of fish they have, but a bestseller they always have is their special California maki. For the meat lovers, a wagyu sashimi can start off your meal, followed by an extensive array of those Japanese cuisine favorites. Don’t forget to call for reservations as this place fills up quickly!

9. Fat Butchik’s
A tasty meal and a soft breeze, sometimes that’s all you need for a perfect evening. Fat Butchik’s is located on an open roof deck (lanterns included) for an easy and relaxing dinner setting. Feeling hungry? This resto offers large chunks of smoked pork belly or cheese sausages to fill you up. Down it with their homemade iced tea, cocktails, and cold beers that you can enjoy late into the night.

10. Southern Creperie – FCC
Southern Creperie-FCC is a treat for us girls who can’t decide if the mood calls for something sweet or savory. Take your pick from their bacon and cheese crepe or indulge in the dulce de leche crepe—you can even choose if you want those crepes soft or crispy! As the summer heat intensifies, cool down with a milkshake topped off with free ice cream.
